Motorcycle theft leads to drug charges

Kevin Michael Black was arrested by Morristown Police Department’s (MPD) Criminal Apprehension Unit and detectives of the Narcotics Division on April 2, 2019 for theft of property, a motorcycle; he stole on March 31, 2019.

Black agreed to meet the victim, who was selling the motorcycle on Facebook, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital to test drive and purchase. The victim agreed to allow Black to test drive the motorcycle in the parking lot; however, Black left the parking lot without paying for the motorcycle.

When MPD Criminal Apprehension Unit served the arrest warrant on Black, he and Logan Moore were found in the garage of a home on Sunrise Avenue painting the motorcycle. While serving the warrant, officers found Black to be in possession of a needle, Methamphetamine and Marijuana. A loaded meth pipe that did contain methamphetamine was also found that Moore did claim to be his.

Kevin Black was arrested and charged with Theft of Property over $2,500., Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia and Schedule VI Drug Violations. Logan Moore was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia. Both suspects were transported to the Hamblen County Jail.
