West View Middle School 8th grader Tennessee Darby wins Hamblen County spelling bee competition

Tennessee Darby, eighth grader at West View Middle School, is this year’s Hamblen County Spelling Bee champion. He is the son of Dale Darby and Jennifer Darby.

Runner-up is John Hay fourth grader Thomas Drinnon. His parents are Matthew and Rebecca Drinnon.

The annual Spelling Bee was held at Meadowview Middle School. Assistant Superintendent Brantley Smith was moderator. Judges were Stephanie Dallmann, supervisor of assessments and ESL, and Mandy Lloyd, supervisor of special services.
