The picking panel:

Paul Bristol is 25 years old and recently got married to his high school sweetheart, Josie Spivey. The two reside in Maryville, TN. Paul has some football experience under his belt. He played for George Quarles and the mighty Red Rebels from 2011-2014. Paul started as a junior at defensive back and helped the Rebels win back-to-back state championships. His senior season, his team was down 28-7 in the first quarter. Maryville would go on to win in overtime 35-34 after a blocked field goal attempt (to send them into OT) and an interception during a 2-point try. When Paul is not doing play-by-play, he works at a gym called Bullman’s Kickboxing and Krav Maga. He is trying to get his insurance license on the side. Paul is in his second season now as the voice of the Trojans and he expects big things out of the Trojans this fall.

Rob Harvey is the Sports Editor at the Citizen Tribune, a job he has had since 2020. Rob is a graduate of The McCallie School in Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee, where he got his Bachelor’s in Journalism and Electronic Media in 2019. Rob is a fan of the Vols, St. Louis Cardinals, Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators. This is Rob’s second year as a member of Pigskin Picks.

Mike Rypel is a native of Cleveland, Ohio.  In 2002, shortly after graduating from Bowling Green State University (OH), Mike was hired as the WCRK Radio News and Sports Director in Morristown.  While at B.G.S.U., he had the thrill of doing the football play-by-play at Penn State University, when legendary coach Joe Paterno won his 300th career game.  He also called the final collegiate regular season contest involving future hall-of-fame WR Randy Moss at Marshall University, and was honored to cover football, basketball, baseball and hockey contests over the years at Michigan State, Ohio State, Louisiana Tech and the legendary Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI.  The northern Ohio native has proudly not missed a Cleveland Browns game since the 1985 season.  His greatest legacy however, is his daughter Ava, a straight-A student in 8th grade at Meadowview Middle School.

Dylan Young is the assistant sports editor at the Citizen Tribune. He graduated from Morristown West High School in 2014 and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Communications from Walters State Community College before earning a bachelor’s degree from Carson-Newman University in 2019.
