Changes are coming to Downtown Morristown. City Administrator Tony Cox informed city council this week that the owners of the old Bradley Hardware building are beginning the process of salvaging the property. The building will then be demolished.
The building sits behind the Parks-Belk building on North Cumberland. Over the years, the building suffered significant water damage, as the building’s roof began to give way on the main level, exposing it to the elements.
Passersby will soon notice scaffolding on the Cumberland Avenue side of the building and on the opposite side, Peavine Alley will be closed off to public foot traffic for safety reasons.
